SARS-CoV-2 Surveillance
Molecular recognition methods for pathogen detection are becoming increasingly popular as real-time PCR assays are currently recognized as the gold-standard technique to detect SARS-CoV-2. These are capable of providing highly specific and sensitive pathogen detection in a shorter period of time when compared to common culture-based methods. We offer SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR detection kits for human diagnostics (CE-IVD) and environmental testing, particularly surface swab and wastewater samples, as there is an increasing concern in monitoring the presence of SARS-CoV-2 in the environment.

Surveillance of SARS-CoV-2 in wastewater allows for early action before the disease spreads, and the detection of the virus in wastewater should be seen as a warning sign for the (re)emergence of the pandemic or resurgence of new outbreaks, reducing its impact on the community.
