ALScreen – CaMV Detection kit is a premium quality molecular biology solution to provide the general laboratory and research personnel an easy and quick ready-to-use kit for the detection of CaMV virus DNA. In plants naturally infected with viruses or samples contaminated with virus-bearing plant material, positive results for the 35S promoter cannot be implicitly identified as GMOs. In these cases, the samples may be identified as a false positive result for GMO. It is therefore important to differentiate between food products that contain GMOs and non-GMO products naturally infected with the CaMV virus. In this sense, to rule out the possibility of reporting false positives, it is important to report the detection of the CaMV virus, whenever the presence of the CaMV 35S promoter is detected exclusively in the analysed samples.
